Spotlight On: Arts & Social Change

A panel of hand-picked artists will share some of their projects and work, with plenty of time for questions, discussions, tea, cake and informal networking.
For those of you already working in this area, it’s a chance to talk about your work and meet others in the field.

BEN MELLOR – spoken word artist and theatre-maker whose work often addresses issues around social and environmental justice. Currently working as Youth Theatre Director for Collective Encounters who specialise in theatre for social change through collaborative practice.
NATASHA BOOJIHAWON – Co-Director of Union Street Media Arts, a Manchester based social enterprise that works at a grassroots level utilising the power of film and digital arts to raise awareness of critical issues facing our people and planet.
NIKKI MAILER – internationally experienced community arts practitioner creating work led by people and relationships.
HAFSAH BASHIR – respected poet and writer whose work often addresses conflict and resistance, on both personal and global levels.
(Nikki & Hafsah are currently collaborating on ‘Platform for Palestinian Arts’.)
JACQUI WOOD – Director of Arc, an inclusive Stockport based charity using arts & crafts to aid journeys to recovery & wellbeing.
