About us

Europia is a community development organisation established in 2008. Our friendly team is committed to supporting people from  Eastern Europe in Greater Manchester.

Cultural Health and Wellbeing Programme.

This project aims to support people to better understand their health needs and the services available. We want them to gain  the necessary skills to keep their body and mind healthy to improve overall health. Whilst breaking down barriers to getting the right health care for them.

Programme

Therapy

  • We can offer free one to one therapy by a trained psychotherapist who speaks Romanian. This is a completely private and confidential service.

Activities

  • We run a number of activities we know the community enjoys, such as art workshops and plant growing, and soon we plan to provide free ESOL classes as part of this project. Alongside these activities, we will allow everybody to discuss different wellbeing topics, tips to keep healthy and happy, and other useful information.

Volunteering

  • You can also become a volunteer for the Roma project. This is a good opportunity for you to gain further employment skills. There will be different things you can help with, like being part of focus groups, helping at events and talking to people from the Roma community and health professionals about barriers to health.

Mentoring

  • A mentor can help you find your way through the health system and support you in lots of ways.

Roma support Drop-in sessions

  • We work closely with the support drop-in; most of our activities will be run alongside to ensure the service is  accessible to clients.

Roma drop-in sessions:

Every Monday from 9:00am-3pm – Arcadia Library

Every Wednesday from 9:00am-3pm – Old Levenshulme Library

  • Attending informative workshops promoting healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles – anything from exploring how to manage a balanced diet and keep active to improve your mental wellbeing.
