Europia supports research into effects of Coronavirus on Eastern European nationals

Europia is supporting a nationwide health study by interviewing Eastern European nationals living in Manchester.

The CICADA-Me* (Coronavirus Intersectionalities: Chronic Conditions And Disabilities And Migrant/Ethnic Minoritisation) project aims to improve the understanding of pandemic-related issues faced by minority ethnic groups with chronic conditions in daily living and mental and physical health.

By conducting this research, the project wants to take first-hand initiative in influencing national policies and procedures in the health and social care sector and make recommendations on locality levels across the UK.

Could you take part in the research?

We want to invite people to take part in this much-needed research.

To participate, you must:

  • Be an Eastern European national
  • Reside in Manchester or Greater Manchester
  • have a mental health condition that impacts your daily life.
  • preferably have a diagnosis regarding your mental health (you can still take part without a diagnosis, as long as you can explain how your mental health affects your daily life).
  • Submit your interest (details below) before 20th September 2022

If you choose to participate, you will be invited for an interview with a member of Europia’s team. The interview will cover questions about your experiences during and post-COVID pandemic and the support you received during that time. You will also have the opportunity to share how you think the health and social sector can be improved.

As compensation for your time, you will receive a £20 Love to Shop gift voucher.

The data you provide will be anonymised, and we will not share any identifying information with this project. You have the choice to provide your email address if you would like to receive updates on the progress of this research.
